OVERVIEW  —

Childhood asthma isn't a different disease from asthma in adults, but children face unique challenges. The condition is a leading cause of emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and missed school days. Not only the child but also the parents of children with asthma experience spiritual and psychological stress, anxiety, worry, and doubt especially about their ability to manage extreme situations.

SOLUTION  —

HYNIÜ is a smart asthma management system that tracks and records the user's respiratory health and medication use. It is the complete redesign of existing asthma inhalers coupled with a wearable health patch that tracks respiratory health and asthma triggers. The rounder shape of the pump is easy to hold and carry, suitable for children to press the container and release the medication.

Hyniü consists of a Bluetooth-enabled smart inhaler, wearable wellness device and charging station that communicates wirelessly with an app. The LED matrix shines through the smart pump relaying information and interactive medium to connect emotionally with the child.

The adhesive patch sits on the skin similar to a stethoscope and monitors changes in the upper respiratory tract. The wearable patch device provides live haptic feedback and suggestions to help the user stick to their personal asthma plan and help parents monitor their kid's symptoms through the app.
